MTA International Case Study

MTA International has been broadcasting Islamic programming around the world since 1994.  With two sites in London, it broadcasts internationally in six languages, simultaneously, 24 hours per day.

Convergence Group started supplying MTA with two services FacilityLine Plus and Dedicated Internet Access products in mid 2010.  MTA used these to transfer its programme feeds from its Putney production centre to its satellite distribution base in the BT Tower in London.

While it was important for MTA to achieve cost savings by transferring its business to Covergence Group, MTA’s key objectives were to work with a data provider that could provide a scalable, reliable and resilient quality of service and better customer care.  

What differentiated Convergence Group from other providers was its ability to deliver the service MTA required coupled with the more personal relationship and assurances it could offer MTA.  This relationship with a smaller provider gave MTA the confidence that should any service issues arise, CG was well placed to respond more quickly than a larger provider could.

Since then, MTA has upgraded its 30mg Bearer to a 1 Gbts line which has allowed it to continue to stream the three existing programme feeds from its site in Putney to the BT Tower and add a third terrestrial circuit from its site in Morden to connect to Putney and the Tower.

MTA was impressed with the speed of installation for the new service – which took just eight weeks from start to finish.  This was ahead of schedule, saving time and money for their critical services. And the real bonus was the way Convergence Group managed the project.
